“Where are you taking me?” I screamed from the passenger seat of a black four-wheel drive truck. My captor behind the wheel and his two friends snickering in the back.
“Never you mind missy. That’s for me and my boys to know. You’ll find out later,” The teenage boy driving said.
I couldn’t believe the mess I’d gotten myself into this time. It never failed for me to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. One minute I’m standing in front of my high school the next I’m being shoved into this guy’s truck and heading to some unknown location for them to do gosh knows what to me.
“New girl doesn’t even know where she’s at, huh Alexander,” the black-headed boy in the seat behind the driver said. His voice had a macho-tone and when I could see them he had the build of a football player.
“No she doesn’t, Corey. She has no clue, and that’s perfect,” the boy I now knew as Alexander said. Alexander also had the build of a sports player, but not the buff of a football player. He had the sleek build of a soccer player or a swimmer instead. His blonde hair draped across his tight jaw line almost as if it was drawn there, and stubble covered his chin.
“I don’t even know where we’re going. Why are we doing this? She’s in my class! I feel kind of bad for this. What’s the point in all of this?” The final boy asked, his voice was shaky and he overall sounded like he didn’t agree with what was going on—I wished his reasoning with his friends worked better.
“Evan, Evan, Evan. You never get it do ya? She’s the new girl in town, it’s our job as the welcome committee to welcome her. Remember? You signed up for this, no turning back now.” Alexander flicked the lights of the truck off and we came to a slow stop on the side of the road.
“What are you going to do to me? Leave me out in the middle of nowhere at midnight and expect me to hike my way back to town? This isn’t fair!” I shouted as three seat-belts whirred toward the side of the vehicle.
“We’re going to get out of the truck now. If you scream, we have a gun. Don’t make this hard on yourself Chloe. Play along nicely and you’ll get out of here safe and sound. If you don’t play along nicely, well, that’s what the gun is for,” Alexander said, I could hear the smirk plastering his face—he enjoyed doing this, whatever this was.
I gulped and looked out the window of the truck to figure out where I was. We’d only drove ten minutes before we stopped, so I wasn’t that far from the school—I could at least find my way back there. I remembered the turns we made before stopping so if I just flipped them I could get back to where I started this awful night.
“I can’t believe we’re doing this. This is so stupid. Your dad is the freaking sheriff, Alexander. You shouldn’t be doing this, it’s illegal and you know it.” Evan groaned from behind me, opening his door slow.
“Yeah, because kids of the sheriff always behave. Corey, remind me why you wanted to bring him again?” Alexander huffed rolling his eyes as he climbed out of the truck.
“He’s on the track team and can chase her if she runs?” Corey asked, he seemed unsure of his answer.
“Well, I won’t chase her if she runs. I’ll let her escape, because this is stupid. You two are stupid. I mean come on, you can get a girl in your pants without having to drag them out here and do what you are going to do to her. I won’t be a part of this, this time. Or ever again. Unlike you clowns, I have a conscious and feel bad watching you each and every time.” Evan slams the door shut and walks around to the back of the truck.
“Whatever.” Corey rolls his eyes and shuts his door as Alexander opens the door next to me. I stare at him with fear in my eyes.
“Welcome to a place we call The Bleeding Tombstone.” He flashed a devilish grin as he yanked me from the truck.
“Why’s it called that?” I asked staring at Evan with pleading eyes.
“Should we tell her Alexander?” Corey asked as he flicked he hands toward the tombstone that stood a few feet from the road.
“The fun is all in not knowing,” Alexander said, flashing another devilish smirk.
“I won’t do whatever you ask me to do. I’d rather be shot and killed then have sexual relations with any of you. So go ahead shoot me, I don’t think you have the guts to actually do anything to me.”
Evan shook his head and let out a soft sigh as he tossed the .22 pistol to Alexander. “Really little girl? You think I won’t shoot you?” Alexander said as he cocked the gun and pointed it at Evan, pulling the trigger in a quick, swift motion.
The bullet whizzed through the air and into Evan’s shin, forcing him quickly to the ground in pain. Blood gushed from the wound as Evan tried desperately to stop the blood pouring out of his body. As each second passed Evan let out screams and squeals louder than the next as the pain increased the more blood he loss.
“Why the heck did you shoot Evan. Dude this was supposed to be a quick get our rocks off and that was it. No one was supposed to get hurt, not even the girl. What the heck?” Corey yelled as he stared from friend to friend.
“He was the weak link. He would have told of our actions and I couldn’t allow that to happen. This way he will keep his mouth shut now.”
“And how you figure that one? You freaking shot him!”
“Whatever, are we doing this to the girl or not? Are you going to wuss out on me like he did?”
“Well, if you’re going to shot me then no. But I don’t agree with this and if we get caught I’m ratting you out,” Corey said with a sigh as both guys corralled me toward the tombstone.
“Please don’t do this!” I screamed as loud as I could, praying that the people in the houses across the way would hear me.
“This is your initiation Chloe, you want to be accepted don’t you? You want to fit in with the popular kids, right? Then take this like a good little girl,” Alexander said as he covered my mouth with duct tape and Corey tied me to the tombstone with rope.
I tried to scream again as they ripped my clothes off but my screams came out muffled. My worst fear flashed into my head—rape—they were going to rape me and leave me in the middle of nowhere… or murder me. Either way there was no way out for me, I was trapped in a situation I didn’t want to be in, a situation I shouldn’t be in. One that I’d do anything to not have to see unfold, so I closed my eyes as tight as I could and tried to ignore the next few minutes of my life.
