Name: Crimson Thorn
Age: 205 (Born 1812)
Being: Vampire
Appearance: Long black hair, red eyes, snake bite piercings, left eyebrow pierced, has a tattoo of a black dragon on her right shoulder, tattoo of bats in flight going up her back, a tattoo of a raven on her left wrist with the words 'Nevermore' above it, and a crescent moon with a cat sitting on it on her left outer ankle. Crimson always dresses in dark colors with a goth, steampunk, and victorian style mixed together. Her style varies depending on her moods.
Attitude: Crimson is for the most part a loner and she prefers it that way. It's hard to keep friends when you're immortal and have been alive for 205 years and are a vampire that consumes blood. Those of PDD sort of understand her, but she still sticks to herself, unless she's on a mission bringing in the paranormal that have gotten out of hand, which she craves. That's the only reason she agreed to join the PDD, to rein in the bad guys. She's a fighter in every sense of the word.
Victor Graves:age 12: works for the government as part of the Paranormal Detective Unit. Victor is calm, cool, and collected on the outside. Though, he is quite fragile on the inside but no one knows. Victor is a time gazer. He can see into the past or future.
Augustine “August” Glass: age 578: ability immortal child. These children literally stop aging. He can be killed, but can’t die due to aging. He looks and acts like a typical seventeen year old, despite being incredibly old. He is also quite knowledgeable having learned a lot in his long life. He speaks with a british accent. He has been with the PDD since founding, his lack of aging leading to suspicion, engaging the department’s actions.
Agent Denise Danzel: age 35: A commanding african american woman who is a normal person but she has experience with the paranormal world. She is the agent in charge of the team.
Talia: age 12: a ghost. She is secretive and doesn't often talk about her past. Her powers include the ability to phase through objects and turn invisible. Talia is joins the team at the end of the short story. Even though she doesn’t talk about it, Talia lived with her 21 year old brother in a run down apartment. He did his best for her until one day she was killed by the local gang leaving a him heartbroken. He then uses paranormal magic to revive her into a ghost. Her brother’s name is Eric. Due to her position as a ghost,
Talia is able to converse with both the living and dead with relative ease. Talia is shy and a good listener.
Agent Dallas Florez: age 62: Dallas is an older agent with a heaping helping of experience. He is also a southerner. He likes small towns similar to what he grew up in and has a dislike for big cities. Dallas has been over 50 countries. He has an eye for detail. Since losing multiple family members throughout his life, he became increasingly curious of the paranormal, leading to his alignment with the PDD.

Crimson Thorn woke up just as the sun started to set. Most people were settling in to their cozy beds in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but she was gearing up to go catch the creatures that go bump in the night. The things that haunt your nightmares, more specifically the nocturnal one’s. And much like the rest of her group, she was pretty good at what she did, except she could only function at night. The rest of The Paranormal Detective Department could go out in the sun without it turning them to ash.
“Wonder if I have a new case today,” Crimson said as she stared at her non-exiting reflection in the mirror and sighed. “It would be nice to know what I look like for once…” She ran her fingers through her long black hair before walking out of her room in the Eastern State Penitentiary.
When the PDD first organized they’d decided to adopt the Eastern State Penitentiary as their headquarters because it was an old run-down prison. Plus, it was haunted and a pretty good place to start with riding the world of unfriendly paranormal beings. A few of them choose to live here, other’s left when their shift was over. Crimson stayed because it was easier to not have the responsibility of paying rent, plus when you put 1812 as your birth year people sort of looked at you funny.
“Anyone still here?” she called as she walked into the main hub of the penitentiary.
No one appeared to be around so she grabbed a pack of blood from the fridge and bit into it. She walked over to her desk and grabbed a manila file meant to be her next assignment. Crimson inhaled as she continued sucking on her blood packed and perused through the file.
