Smoke stung his nose as he lay on his back looking up at the black sky. At first it was blurry but it started to become clear with the stars shining down. He had been knocked from his horse during the charge hitting his head. A blurry figure ran up giving a warriors cry. Then there was a sudden sound of a sword block and a scream of death. Then a hand reached down to his shoulder and helped him sit up. His eyes focused on a figure he found familiar. Azukomi, she had found him on the field. She was always by his side even though they didn't always agree. She spoke to him but the words came out muffled and unclear. She motioned for him to stand but the a spear had pieced his side making it hard for him to move. "Nashitomi, you have to get up the citadel has fallen. We must leave." She through his arm over her shoulders. "What happened, we had victory?" his words came out slurred. "Ohyomato and his brigands betrayed us." She soberly looked down and then said, "Grojihoto Sylvanus is no more." "What of the rest of the royal family?" Nashitomi asked struggling to step. "The two uncles gave their lives defend their brother and sister in law. But we were able to get Ivar, his mother and his sister out. we go to meet them now." With every step Nashitomi limped and stepped over dead bodies on their way into the thick forests. He stopped and turned to see the citadel ablaze and flames burning away all that was good. Then he noticed a group of warriors from Abroijo riding toward them. "We have been spotted." Nashitomi reached for his families sword but only found a broken sheath, "Those treacherous thieves are going to kill me without a sword in hand, what a dishonor to our kingdom." "No come on Nashitomi, there is a caravan that is going to take us out of here. We must leave now." She took his arm again and they walked out through the forest.

Aislinn looked down at the two below struggling as the walked through the forest. Everything she'd seen since she'd left her village had been nothing but death and destruction and she'd wanted nothing more than to go back home where it was safe. But she was sent on a mission to find aide for her village, because the fight was heading their way according to the Elders of Asebel. After all we were only a small village of Avariel elves, the last in existence since the last war of The Dragon. Our people couldn't handle another one.
'Do I help, or stay hidden and keep to my mission?' Aislinn thought as she furled her green wings inward close to her body. 'Pros and cons Aislinn. Maybe they know who I'm looking for or maybe they'll kill me and take my wings for warmth. Ugh... Whatever, it's in my nature to help, and part of the stupid reason my kind is nearly dead anyway.'
Aislinn jumped from the tree and landed in front of the two with her wings unfurling in the warm sunlight. She looked at the two and pushed her red hair from her blue eyes and asked, "Are you in need of assistance?" As she spoke her wings retreated into her skin, leaving behind only two rips in top of her baby blue wrap dress.

Náshitomí instinctively kicked a stick to use as a club. He was unfamiliar with this race that now stood in front of them. As he did so a shooting pain rain down his side making him drop the stick. The wound in his side blood bubbled out and through his armor. Azukomi stepped between this winged creature. As an added defense she drew her short blade in reverse. Then a rustling came from the trees behind them. The warrior class monks from Jade temple came running up. "Azukomi lower your blades. This creature is here in peace." The leading monk said to her as the came closer. "There is two hundred of them coming this way and we are only fifteen. Come the caravan is this way." He motioned for some of the monks to help Náshitomí. Azukomi looked at the monk dressed in a mix of temple robes and black armor. He looked different from the other monks she had known from Jade temple. "Where are you from, monk?" "No time for a conversation," he turned to the winged creature and motioned or her to follow.

Aislinn nodded at the monk and followed looking down at the ground in defeat. If it wouldn't had been for him she would have been killed due to her generosity and that would have been detrimental to her kind. She really needed to hold steady and stop straying from her mission. "Sir Monk, you may be able to assist me. I'm in search of a warrior to aide my village. Do you know of um... Ivar? He's said to be good with the sword and the elders sent me because the dragons are awakening."
Aislinn turned to look at the two she originally spoke to and said, "I mean no harm to you. I'm Aislinn, daughter of the king of Asebel. We are a race of Avariel elves."

The monk looked at her puzzled. "Ivar, but he is just a boy." He thought for a moment reached into his pocket pulled out a red stone. It was a special stone, in the center of the stone it glowed a light red color. It was warm and pulsed with a power that came from the time of the Alfa's. He closed his hand and quickly placed his free hand onto her head. Within seconds he saw her memories and understood her needs. "All the more we need to get him to the coast and get him on a boat off of Myrtle. You can help."

Aislinn nodded at the monk and said, "Perhaps I've been sent to find the wrong warrior then? I don't know, this is all new to me. I've never left the walls of my village..."

They came to a dirt road littered with bodies of the rebels. The monk then reached into his pocket and pulled a blue stone. He crushed it then tossed it onto the road. Within seconds the one cart appeared. In the cart was Ivar, his mother and sister. Two wounded citadel guard lay in the back while three others stood at the corners. Itatomi, Ivars mother leaped down from the cart and ran to the monk throwing her arms around him. "Master Prudell I am glade to see you." "Yes it has been far too long, my Lady." He looked around, "We must get moving the boat is in the docks waiting." "Waiting?" She asked. "How long have you known of this planned attack?" "My Lady we don't have time for this." Master Prudell walked past her to Ivar sitting hugging his legs. His face was dirt with blood and tears. His face showed rage. "My lord, we came as soon as we could." He knelt down and bowed his head. Master Prudell had never seen so much rage before. "Who is she," Ivar asked. "My lord she is here to help." Master Prudell said standing.

Aislinn looked at the Monk then to Ivar and said, "I'm Aislinn, daughter of the King of Asebel. One of two-hundred of the remaining Avariel elves left in this world." She bowed and allowed her green wings to unfurl to reveal her full race, because without the wings she looked like any other elf. "Pleasure to meet you, my Lord. I mean you no harm, and wish to aide you in anyway that I can."

Náshitomí walked over to Ivar and knelt down on one knee. He grunted with pain. "My Lord, my condolences to you and your mother. But you are the Lord now. What are your orders?" "Master Prudell, what is it that we should do?" Ivar looked up at the master. Master Prudell turned to the winged elf and asked, "can you fly over us as we he west." Then he turned to the cart driver, "let's get moving. The enemy is most likely close." The old cart began to move done the old road to the main road that led to the coastal city of Östrimtri. On this main road there were thousands fleeing the fight in the citadel. A cart of peasants rolled up next to the cart. The was a man, wife and three children. The father noticed Ivar and recognize who he was. Then he saw the guards and the monks walking near the area. "Little lord!" He nearly shouted. Master turned quickly walked up to the cart. "Good sir. Please do shout who we have. There are many spy's." "Yes sir." He slowed the cart to a stop, "I have covers and cloaks that you can use to hide them." "We are monks and these are wounded. Why would we be stopped?" A young monk said coming in close. "Yes that is true. But they will be searching for him." The father looked up down the road. " Look there are soldiers looking into carts." The mother quickly reached into the cart and grabbed some covers and cloaks and passed them to the monks. The monks took them and covered the royal family just as the group of rebel soldiers came closer. "Ah, master Prudell... It has been years since I studied in your temple. I was how old.." "Young master, you were at least 6 or 7. It has been a while." Master Prudell walked close. The soldiers began to look through the cart moving things around. Tossing supplies to the ground. Then one of the soldiers noticed Náshitomís armor. The leader motioned for him to be moved out. "Hiding scum in your cart. Under the kings orders this man is now an enemy of the kingdom." He drew his katana. "Young master please, let us pass. That wound is going to fester and he will die soon." Master Prudell pleaded. Azukomi wrapped her fingers tight around her blades. Thankfully the cloak she was now wearing hide this movement.

Aislinn had taken flight just before the group had left and noticed that they were no longer behind her. She slowed and looked down to see that they'd been stopped by a soldier who was searching their cart. She had a bad feeling about what was going on a crept down slowly from the sky.
She had a concealed bow and arrow and wondered if she should take out the guard before he found out about Ivar. "Monk, it's Aislinn, don't panic, my kind can mindspeak. Should I take out the guard so you can pass?"

Master Prudell sensed her thoughts through his mental wards. 'no stay hidden you are our hidden weapon.' "What else are you hiding in this cart Master Prudell?" The young one said reaching for Ivars cloak. "Young master please, these lepers have had been through alot." Master Prudell said reaching for the young masters hand. He recoiled his hand with a winkled expression. "Where are you talking them?" "We are headed to a lepersy island to the west." He pointed to Nashitomi, " if he survives, he will be a guard." The young master stepped back whipping his hand on his armor. He motioned his other guards to back away from the cart. As the thought of lepersy seeped through his mind he reached for a white handkerchief and covered his mouth and nose. Then very nervously waved them on. Master Prudell nodded and began to walk with the cart.

Aislinn saw that her group had been allowed passage and flew on ahead again to scope out the area. She wasn't used to being a look out in the sky, but she's do whatever tasked to save her people. Up ahead she could see the docks and knew they were close to being out of this area and nearer to someplace safe, or so she'dhoped.

Master Prudell looked up to the sky knowing that she was still flying up there. They were close to the port town more of the Abroijos soldiers where searching and seizing what they pleased. 'Aislinn, come down and join us here on the road. The town is crowded they might not notice you. And who ever is hunting you will not see you as easily. Náshitomí slowly sat up and began to move closer to Ivar. Who was still retreated into his mind and dreaming of the day he will take the head of Ohyomato. his mother sat to the opposite side holding the young princess who was sobbing. She had lost her father and was deathly afraid of these soldiers. Azukomi followed Náshitomí trying to take care of him. In the town wounded soldiers loyal to Ivars father were being imprisoned clasp in chains. Some of the mortally wounded were being put to the sword to save their honor. The women of the town where being forced to do unspeakable things. It was terrible time for the kingdom of Myrtle. "Master, these people need our protection." A monk stepped close to Master Prudell. He looked around to the people suffering. His creed taught to help the helpless and aid the suffering. But if they stepped in to help. Ivar and all who had survived the battle will be put to the sword. The risk was too high. He motioned for the cart to drive up the road to the docks. The six of the fifteen monks broke off from the group and entered the alley way. They understood the position of Master Prudell and were willing to stay and help those that they were leaving. Master Prudell walked up to the dock master who was dressed in the colors of Abroijo, deep reds and blacks lined with gold. The Abroijo crest was embroidered into the chest cloth that draped over the soldiers. Orc bodyguards stood by to protect this dock from loyalists. In an impatient grumble the dock master spoke to Master Prudell, "What is it you want, dirty monk." He stayed looking at the book in front of him. Master Prudell refrained from braking his nose, "I would like a cabin on one of the ships." He pulled a heavy bag of gold from under his cloak. Master Prudell plopped the bag on the book in his view, "Well, this is all for you. Great Monk that actually pays." He picked up the bag and bounced it in his hand. "Its not just for me, but my companions," he turned and pointed to the cart. The Dock master looked at the cart and then looked at Master Prudell. "You going to need more money." This frustrated Prudell, "Here is a hundred silver coins," He dropped a second bag on the book. He looked at the bag and rudely chuckled, "Fine get your group on board." "Thank you young sir." Prudell gave a slight bow.

Aislinn flew down and joined the group, her wings quickly retreated into her back once she reached visibility level and she just landed on the ground. To everyone around, it looked as if she'd just jumped from one of the trees which wasn't a new sight for the people of this village, so she should be safe for another day. She looked from the monk to the Orc with amazement. Not many orcs ventured out toward Asebel and she was glad of that fact- he was a ghastly creature. And if this beast of a person frightened her she knew there was much in store for her on this journey.
'Don't worry father, I'll ensure our race lives at least another century... I hope." Aislinn thought as she turned to stare at the cart where young Ivar sat hidden from sight.
